Dunedin Lodge

Lodge No 931

Meeting on Third Wednesday at 6 PM in November, February and May with Installation on the third Saturday in August at 3 PM. Meetings are held at the Masonic Centre Charles Street, Blenheim Secretary Nigel Kennington Email address nigelkennington@outlook.co.nz

The Dunedin Lodge was formed in Dunedin in 1862 and continued in Dunedin until the 18th August 2001 when it was decided to transfer the charter to Blenheim where a keen group of members from the Lodges of Marlborough and Nelson were committed to seeing the Dunedin Lodge continuing, although in another region. Worshipful Brother VJ Anderson from Blenheim was installed as Master of the Dunedin Lodge at the August meeting on the 18th August 2001, ending the last meeting in Dunedin and heralding the start of a new beginning for the Lodge in Blenheim. The shift to Blenheim altered the course for the lodge as it became a dining lodge meeting four times a year. There are three regular meetings, November, February and May, which are open for business, usually lasting 30-45 minutes and we then join with our ladies to dine at a restaurant organised by the Worshipful Master. The Installation meeting is held on the third Saturday in August and after the meeting also have an Installation dinner along with our ladies. A charity project is nominated each year by the Worshipful Master and all our proceeds from our raffles and any assistance in terms of charitable support from The South Island English Masonic District Charitable Trust, are presented to the respective charity. The Dunedin Lodge is a Lodge of friendship and is much enjoyed by the brethren and our ladies who are very much part of our social lodge activities.
